Rules for using the TavolaMeet platform

Ultimo aggiornamento: May 24, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of the TavolaMeet platform ("Platform"), accessible at tavolameet.com, operated by Grata Oy, a company incorporated under Finnish law with registered office at Helsinki, Finland, Y-tunnus 0756383-4 (EU VAT FI07563834). These Terms apply to users who take part in dinners as guests ("Guest"). Use of the Platform implies full acceptance of these Terms.

1.Nature of the service

TavolaMeet is an online platform that connects people interested in attending social dinners (Guests) with users who host such dinners at their home or at restaurant venues (Hosts). TavolaMeet does not directly organise the dinners, does not prepare or serve food, and acts solely as a technology intermediary.

2.Registration and account

2.1Registration requires accurate, complete and up-to-date information.

2.2The user is responsible for safeguarding their credentials and for all activity carried out through their account.

2.3Creating multiple accounts for the same natural person is prohibited.

2.4TavolaMeet may suspend or close accounts in the event of breach of these Terms, unlawful conduct, or receipt of multiple non-frivolous reports.

3.Booking

3.1The publication of an event by the Host constitutes an invitation to offer; the Guest's booking constitutes a contractual offer.

3.2The contract is concluded upon the Host's explicit approval.

3.3When available spots are exhausted, new bookings automatically enter the waiting list (WAITLISTED).

3.4The Guest accepts that the identity of other participating Guests will not be known prior to the event. This is an essential element of the service.

4.Payment and fees

4.1Payment is processed through Stripe Connect (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd.). TavolaMeet does not receive or directly hold user funds.

4.2TavolaMeet retains a service fee of 10% on the booking price. This fee is already included in the displayed price.

4.3Any Stripe processing fees are borne by the Host and deducted before payout.

5.Cancellation

5.1The Guest may cancel the booking up to 48 hours before the event with a full refund.

5.2Cancellations between 48 hours and 24 hours before the event: 50% refund.

5.3Cancellations within the last 24 hours or no-show: no refund.

5.4If the event is cancelled by the Host: full refund to the Guest within 7 business days.

6.Conduct

6.1The Guest undertakes to respect the Host, the other participants, the private property where the dinner takes place and the rules of civil coexistence.

6.2The following are prohibited: violence, harassment, discrimination, excessive alcohol consumption, property damage, disclosure of personal data of other Guests.

6.3Breach of these rules entails reporting, possible suspension and — in serious cases — referral to the competent authorities.

7.Reports and reviews

7.1The Guest may report inappropriate behaviour through the dedicated feature (maximum 5 reports per day to limit abuse).

7.2After 3 distinct non-frivolous reports, the reported user is automatically suspended as a precautionary measure.

7.3The Guest accepts to receive reviews from the Host after the event. Such reviews are not visible to other Guests, but they affect the Guest's reputation on the Platform and are visible to Hosts assessing future bookings.

8.Allergens and food safety

8.1It is the Guest's responsibility to inform the Host of any allergies or intolerances at the time of booking.

8.2TavolaMeet does not verify the accuracy of the allergen information published by the Host. The Guest accepts that the risk of allergic reactions is borne at their own risk in the event of failure to communicate in a timely manner.

9.Limitation of liability

9.1TavolaMeet is not liable for: the quality of the food, the hygienic conditions of the venue, the conduct of Hosts or other Guests, or injuries occurring during the event.

9.2TavolaMeet performs exclusively intermediation activities and does not serve food or provide catering services.

9.3TavolaMeet's liability, to the extent permitted by law, is limited to the amount of the fee actually received for the specific contested booking.

10.Governing law and jurisdiction

10.1Finnish law applies.

10.2For consumers residing in the European Union, pursuant to Regulation (EU) 1215/2012 (Brussels I bis) and Regulation (EC) 593/2008 (Rome I), the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country of habitual residence remain applicable, and the consumer may always bring an action before the courts of their country of residence. Italian consumers may rely on the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005); Finnish consumers may rely on the Kuluttajansuojalaki (Finnish Consumer Protection Act 38/1978).

10.3For non-consumer users, the exclusive forum shall be Helsinki, Finland.

11.1TavolaMeet may modify these Terms at any time.

11.2Changes are notified to the user with 15 days' notice by email and through a request for re-acceptance at the next login.
